House Fire Reported in Princess Anne Early Monday Morning

Somerset County, MD - A fire broke out at a home on Peggy Neck Road in Princess Anne, Maryland, early Monday morning, prompting a response from local firefighters.

The call came in at 4:49 a.m. on May 25, 2026, in the 31000 block of Peggy Neck Road in Somerset County, Maryland. The home is a one story, wood frame rancher style dwelling.

The occupant discovered the fire and was able to get out safely. No injuries were reported, and one person was displaced as a result of the incident.

The Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Department responded with 25 firefighters and had the fire under control in about 15 minutes. It was a single alarm call.

Investigators determined the fire started in the master bedroom. The cause remains under investigation.

The estimated loss from the fire is $5,000 for the structure and $1,000 for the contents inside.
