Hurlock Man Arrested After Foot Chase, Illegal Drugs Found
Dorchester County, MD - On September 10, 2026, at approximately 6:04 p.m., the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office and Cambridge Police Department responded to the 600 block of Pine St for a subject with an active warrant.
A Sheriff's Office K9 Deputy was on the way to help Cambridge Police with a traffic stop at Elm St and Race St. While heading there, the Deputy spotted a man in the 600 block of Pine St who had an active warrant through the Sheriff's Office.
Cambridge Police units arrived and saw the man walking on the sidewalk in front of the Elks Lodge. As officers got out of their patrol vehicle to talk to him, he ran.
Officers chased the man on foot. He was eventually caught and arrested at Pine St and Bethel St.
While officers were placing him under arrest, the man resisted. His actions drew a crowd of citizens to the area.
During the arrest, officers found a plastic bag holding a large amount of crack cocaine in the man's hand. He was taken to Cambridge Police headquarters for processing.
The man was identified as Rhasan Jamarr Jenkins, 39, of Hurlock, MD. Jenkins also had an active Dorchester County Circuit Court Body Attachment for Failure to Appear.
Jenkins was turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections. He was held on no bond.
Jenkins was charged with the following:
-CDS Possession with Intent to Distribute Narcotic
-CDS Possession Not Cannabis
-CDS Possession Paraphernalia
-Failure to Obey a Lawful Order
-Disorderly Conduct
-Resisting Arrest
