Hurlock Man Arrested on Assault Warrant Following February Incident at Easton Fire Station
Easton, MD - A Hurlock man is facing serious charges after being arrested last week on a warrant connected to an assault that took place at a local fire station earlier this year.
Thomas J. Linthurst, 39, was taken into custody on April 30, 2026, by officers of the Easton Police Department. He was charged with Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, and Reckless Endangerment.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on February 26, 2026. Officers were called to the Easton Volunteer Fire Department in response to a reported assault. After that initial response, the victim chose to file charges against Linthurst, which led to the arrest warrant.
Linthurst was taken into custody and later transferred to the Talbot County Detention Center.
No additional details about the nature of the assault have been released at this time.

Earlier today, we received a message from the Easton Volunteer Fire Department, who wanted to clarify a post that we published yesterday.
According to the Easton Volunteer Fire Department, they wanted to clarify what they refer to as "misinformation currently circulating on social media" regarding an assault incident on February 26, 2026.
For the record, we utilized the Easton Police Departments Press Release that was issued yesterday and completed an article after verifying charges through the Maryland Courts System.
Easton Police Officers did respond to the area near the Easton Volunteer Fire Department, but it didn't actually happen at this location. The incident took place on a public access road near the Easton Volunteer Fire Department but not inside their facility.
The individuals involved have no connection to the Easton Volunteer Fire Department and were not guests or members.
