Kennedyville Resident Held Without Bond on 3 Warrants
Kent County, MD - On October 1, 2026, the Kent County Sheriff's Office served three court warrants on a Kennedyville, Maryland resident.
William Dudley Thompson Jr., 56, of Kennedyville, Maryland, is now being held without bond at the Kent County Detention Center after being served with the warrants.
Cpl. Piasecki of the Kent County Sheriff's Office came into contact with Thompson and served the warrants. All three were bench warrants from the Kent County District Court.
One warrant was for violation of probation. The other two were for failure to appear in court.
A bench warrant is an order signed by a judge. It allows law enforcement to arrest someone and bring them back before the court.
A violation of probation warrant can be issued when a judge believes someone did not follow the rules of their probation. A failure to appear warrant is issued when someone does not show up for a scheduled court date.
Thompson is being held without bond on each of the three warrants. This means there is no bail amount that can be paid for release while the cases move forward.
