Large Crowd Disperses After Seaford Bar Closes Early
Seaford, DE - On September 12, 2026 at approximately 12:57 a.m., Seaford Police officers were dispatched to The Benjamin for a report of a large disorderly crowd in the parking lot. Officers arrived to find between 100 and 200 people gathered outside the business.
Management told officers the bar had closed early because of the crowd. They asked everyone still on the property to leave.
Officers worked to disperse the crowd from the area. Some people then tried to gather at the nearby Wawa, but the store had already secured its doors.
The group moved again, this time to the parking lot at Whispers. Management there also called police and asked for the crowd to leave.
Officers spoke with the group again and warned that anyone who stayed could be arrested for trespassing. The crowd left without further incident.
