Laurel Man Arrested After Bringing Gunshot Victim to Hospital With Illegal Firearm

Laurel, DE - Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that took place Saturday afternoon in Laurel, Delaware.

On May 9, 2026, at around 3:20 p.m., troopers were called to TidalHealth Nanticoke after a 19-year-old man arrived by personal vehicle with gunshot wounds. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

The Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit took over the case due to the nature of the incident.

Early in the investigation, troopers learned that the victim had been shot in front of a residence on Portsville Road near Randall Street in Laurel, Delaware. The suspect has not yet been identified.

Investigators also learned that the victim was driven to the hospital in a blue Mazda 3. The driver was identified as Alexison Amisial, 20, of Georgetown, Delaware.

Troopers located the vehicle and Amisial at the First Stop Gas Station at 114 West Street in Laurel, Delaware. When they made contact with him, Amisial was found to be hiding an untraceable firearm in his waistband. He was taken into custody without incident.

Amisial was transported to Troop 4, where he was charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Firearm), a felony, and Possession of an Untraceable Firearm, also a felony. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released on a $3,500 unsecured bond.
