Lewes Businesses Hit in String of Early Morning Break-Ins
Sussex County, DE - Delaware State Police are investigating a series of commercial burglaries and attempted burglaries that took place along Coastal Highway in Lewes early Saturday morning.
Troopers responded around 6:30 a.m. on May 30, 2026, to Coastal Plaza at 18388 Coastal Highway after reports came in about multiple businesses being targeted. The affected locations included Go Brit, Cabana's Restaurant, Tienda la Bendicion, and The Listening Booth.
Investigators say two unknown suspects forced their way in, or tried to, at each location. In some cases money was taken. In others, the attempt was unsuccessful.
Police also connected three more incidents nearby. Bushels Sports Bar and Grill at 18289 Coastal Highway, Cafe Pink Blossom at 18266 Coastal Highway, and Matt's Fish Camp at 34401 Tenley Court were also targeted in what investigators describe as similar incidents.
Seven businesses in total were hit or targeted within the same area in a short window of time.
The Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit is handling all of the cases.

No arrests have been announced at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
