Lewes Man Arrested for Burglary at Dewey Beach Home
Sussex County, DE - A Lewes, Delaware man was arrested Saturday night after trespassing at a Dewey Beach residence, not once, but twice in the same evening.
On June 13, 2026, at around 9:30 p.m., Dewey Beach Police responded to a burglary alarm at a home in the 100 block of West Street in Dewey Beach, Delaware.
While officers were on their way, the homeowner called the communications center to report that she had spotted an unknown man on her security camera, who had no business being on her property.
When officers arrived, they searched the home and the surrounding area. No one was found inside, but there were signs that someone had recently entered the residence.
While still on scene, officers received photographs from the homeowner showing the suspect captured on her security camera. The man was described as a white male, approximately 50 to 60 years old, with short brown hair, wearing a gray shirt, gray pants, and black shoes.
Through their investigation, officers identified the suspect as Frank Calvosa, 64, of Lewes, Delaware.
About an hour later, at approximately 10:40 p.m., the homeowner called police again, Calvosa had come back. Officers responded immediately and found him hiding inside an outdoor shower enclosure in the fenced rear yard of the home. He was taken into custody without incident.
Calvosa was charged with two counts of Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree.
He was transported to the Dewey Beach Police Department, where he was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court. He was then committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution under an intoxication hold.
