Man Arrested in Delmar For Having Active Capias Warrant

Delmar, DE - Officers from the Delmar Police Department were dispatched to the area of E. State Street and N. 12th Street in reference to checking on the welfare of a male subject walking in and out of traffic.

Upon arrival, officers located the individual and identified him as Jeffery M. Read. Officers conducted a check on Read's name and date of birth, as per normal practice.

Read was found to have a capias warrant from the Justice of the Peace Court #2 for failure to appear.

As a result, Read was arrested and transported to the Delmar Police Department for processing. Read was arraigned by a J.P. Court Judge and later released on an unsecured bond.
