Man Found Unresponsive in Car Near Easton Pizza Shop Arrested for DUI

Easton, MD - A man found slumped in a parked vehicle outside a popular Easton restaurant was arrested on a drunk driving charge after officers determined he was not fit to drive.

On April 15, 2026, officers with the Easton Police Department responded to the area of Rusticana Pizza at 810 Dover Road for a welfare check. Bystanders had spotted a male in a vehicle and were unable to wake him.

When officers arrived, the man was awake. He was identified as Mathew Rhodes, 47, of Easton, Maryland.

As officers spoke with Rhodes, they noticed several signs that suggested he may have been impaired. Officers then conducted field sobriety tests at the scene.

After completing the tests, Rhodes was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.
