Cambridge, MD - A Cambridge man was arrested last Saturday evening after police say he punched someone in the face during an argument over watching a movie.

On April 18, 2026, at around 7:26 p.m., Cambridge Police Department officers responded to the 700 block of Saint Claire Avenue after a report of an assault. When officers arrived, they found the victim with visible injuries to their face.

According to police, the dispute started over whether Aaron Gardner Evans, 55, of Easton, Maryland, would be allowed to watch a movie at the residence. The argument escalated, and as Evans was leaving, he allegedly punched the victim in the face.

Officers placed Evans under arrest at the scene. He was later released on his own personal recognizance, meaning he was let go without having to post bail.

Evans was charged with Second Degree Assault.

This incident serves as a reminder that even minor disagreements can quickly turn physical and lead to serious legal consequences. What started as a simple argument over a movie ended with an arrest and criminal charges, and potentially jail time down the road.
