Man Seriously Burned in Princess Anne Mobile Home Fire

Somerset County, MD - On October 4, 2026, at approximately 2:27 p.m., the Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 30000 block of Blue Jay Circle in Princess Anne, Somerset County, Maryland, for a reported structure fire. The fire was in a single-wide mobile home, and a neighbor was the first to notice it.

One man was hurt in the fire. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening burn injuries.

About 25 firefighters worked the one-alarm fire. They had it under control in 20 minutes.

The fire started inside the home. The cause has not been released and is still under investigation.

One person was displaced by the fire. Damage to the home is estimated at $15,000, with another $2,500 in damage to the belongings inside.

A smoke alarm was in the home, but it is not known if it went off.
