MDOT Visits Shore to Discuss $21.9B Transportation Plan

State of MD - Representatives from the Maryland Department of Transportation will meet with local elected officials this week on the Eastern Shore. The meetings will cover the Moore-Miller Administration's Draft Consolidated Transportation Program for Fiscal Years 2027 to 2032.

The draft plan lays out a $21.9 billion, six year capital budget for the state's transportation network. It is part of the Department's annual tour, which visits every Maryland county and Baltimore City.

The tour gives local elected officials and the public a chance to hear about the plan and share feedback. Three stops are scheduled locally this week, here on the shore.

The first stop is in Worcester County. It will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 10 a.m. at the Worcester County Government Center, Room 1101, 1 West Market Street in Snow Hill, Maryland.

The second stop is in Somerset County. It will be held the same day at 2 p.m. at the Somerset County Office Complex, Room 111, 11916 Somerset Avenue in Princess Anne, Maryland.

The final stop is in Wicomico County. It will be held that evening at 7 p.m. at the Wicomico Civic Center, 500 Glen Avenue in Salisbury.

Each fall, the Department presents its draft six year capital program to Maryland counties and Baltimore City for review and comment. This gives local leaders a direct say before the plan moves forward.

After gathering input from local jurisdictions, the Department will submit the Final Fiscal Years 2027-2032 Consolidated Transportation Program to the Legislature. That will happen in January, ahead of the 2027 General Assembly session.
