Middletown Drug Bust: Three Arrested After Multi-Week Investigation
State of DE - Three Middletown residents were arrested on May 14, 2026, following a multi-week drug investigation led by the Middletown Police Department. The operation was conducted in partnership with the Kent County Governor's Task Force and the Kent County Drug Unit.
Officers made contact with the suspects in the area of E. Lake Street and N. Cox Street. All three individuals were taken into custody at that location.
The suspects were identified as Leroy Berry, 38, Keenany Brady, 39, and Reginald Lacewell, 53, all residents of Middletown. Brady and Lacewell were reportedly involved in the active sale of narcotics at the time of the arrest.
Berry, a six-time convicted felon, faces charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Lacewell faces the same three charges.
Brady faces the most serious list of charges among the three. In addition to the drug charges, he also faces Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited, and Possession of a Prescription Drug without a Prescription.
During the investigation, officers seized approximately 4 grams of crack cocaine along with additional prescription medications.
Lacewell and Brady were arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released on unsecured bond. Berry was arraigned and committed to the custody of the Department of Correction on a $3,010 secured bond.
The Middletown Police Department has not released additional details about the ongoing investigation at this time.
