Middletown Man Charged With Indecent Exposure Incidents at Target and Wawa
State of DE - A 25-year-old Middletown man is facing charges tied to two separate incidents at stores on Middletown Warwick Road. Police say both cases involve indecent exposure, and the second one also involves inappropriate contact with a victim.
On October 7, 2026, Middletown Police responded to Target, 300 block of Middletown Warwick Road, Middletown, DE, for a report of a man exposing himself inside the store.
Workers at the store saw exposing himself and called police. According to police, the man was exposing himself and touching himself in a sexual way inside the business.
When officers got there, they took the man into custody. Police say the arrest happened without incident.
He was charged with two counts of lewdness and one count of indecent exposure in the second degree. After going before a judge, he was released on his own recognizance.
As part of his release, he was ordered to have no contact with the victim in this case. He was also placed on pretrial supervision while his case moves through the courts.
Less than three weeks later, police were called again. On October 26, 2026, Middletown Police responded to Wawa, 500 block of Middletown Warwick Road, Middletown, DE, for a similar report involving the same man.
Police say this time, he exposed himself and touched himself in a sexual way at the Wawa. They also say he had inappropriate physical contact with the victim in this case.
Police looked into the Wawa incident over the next few days. On October 29, 2026, they located and arrested the man. In this incident, he's charged with unlawful sexual contact in the third degree, indecent exposure in the second degree, and lewdness.
He went before a judge again and was given a $2,000 cash bond. He couldn't pay it, so he was sent to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.
Police did not release the man's name or photo. Delaware House Bill 59, a new state law that took effect on October 21, 2026, blocks police from sharing names or photos in cases like this one.
