Mobile Home Fire Displaces Two in Delmar

Delmar, MD - A fire broke out Sunday evening at a mobile home on Clare Circle in Delmar, Maryland, displacing two people and causing an estimated $30,000 in combined losses.

The Delmar Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene in the 9200 block of Clare Circle around 6:56 p.m. on May 31, 2026. Forty firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control within 20 minutes.

Neighbors were the first to spot the fire and reported it. The one-story, wood-framed single-wide mobile home was damaged, with an estimated $20,000 in structural loss and $10,000 in contents lost.

Two occupants were displaced as a result of the fire.

Investigators have not yet determined an official cause. However, spontaneous combustion of recently laundered clothing could not be ruled out as a contributing factor.

The fire started in the bedroom. The investigation remains ongoing.
