Newark Man Charged After Shots Fired Into Occupied Car

Kent County, MD - On September 15, 2026, the Kent County Sheriff's Office responded to Kennedyville Road in Kennedyville, Maryland for a reported shooting.

Deputies learned that someone had fired multiple rounds from a shotgun into an occupied vehicle at close range. The shooter had left the scene before deputies arrived.

A short time later, deputies located and arrested the suspect, later identified as Louis Dominick Sparco Jr., age 37, of Newark, Delaware. He was charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder and related charges.

Sparco is being held at the Kent County Detention Center without bond. No injuries were reported from the shooting.
