Ocean City, MD - The Town of Ocean City is getting ready to flush the hydrants in its water system. Crews will start on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

Public Works does this work twice a year. Crews will move from south to north, starting on S, 1st Street and covering several blocks each day.

Most of the work is planned for late evening and into the early morning hours. The town says those times could change if needed.

Water may look a little discolored after crews flush hydrants in your area. The town says this is not harmful and goes away after a short time. If you want to clear your pipes, run cold water for several minutes until it looks clear.

The town expects the work to be done by Thursday afternoon, November 5. Questions or concerns about the flushing in your area can go to the Public Works Water Department at 410.524.8388.
