Ocean City, MD - The Town of Ocean City's Public Works Department is scheduled to begin the bi-annual spring hydrant flushing of the water system on Sunday, April 26.
Operations will progress systematically from south to north. The flushing will begin on South 1st Street and cover several blocks per day.

Public works personnel are currently scheduled to perform the hydrant flushing during the late evening and early morning hours. These operational times are subject to change if circumstances require adjustments.

Residents and businesses are advised that a slight discoloration of the water may be observed after the flushing process. This discoloration is not harmful and will dissipate after a short time.

Individuals wishing to clear their pipes are advised to run cold water for several minutes until the water runs clear.

The completion of this project is expected by the afternoon of Thursday, April 30.

For questions or concerns regarding the hydrant flushing operations in specific areas, the Public Works Water Department can be contacted directly at 410.524.8388.
