Offender Walks Away From Delaware Correctional Facility
State of DE - A individual who has previously been convicted of rape walked away from a Delaware Department of Correction facility and has not been seen since.
Omesimus Sumpter, 19, failed to return to the Community Corrections Treatment Center in Smyrna, Delaware after being released on an approved treatment pass on May 15, 2026. His whereabouts are currently unknown, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Sumpter is described as a Black male standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing around 190 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.
He was last seen in the Dover area wearing green pants, a black shirt with white and lime green lettering, a black jacket, a black knit hat, and black sneakers.
He was convicted of Rape 4th under 16.
The Community Corrections Treatment Center is a Level 4 facility where people convicted of crimes are allowed to leave the building during the day.
Unlike Level 5 prisons, these centers are not fully secured. Residents can leave to go to work, look for jobs, or attend approved treatment sessions.
Sumpter was on an approved pass when he did not return.
