One Dead and Two Others Injured from Norris Twilley Road Crash

Wicomico County, MD - On September 16, 2026, at approximately 5:14 p.m., the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Norris Twilley Road and Norfolk Drive, in Delmar, Maryland for a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries.

The Mardela Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene, along with several additional agencies.

Preliminary information indicates a vehicle left the roadway and overturned multiple times. One passenger in the vehicle was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and another passenger were treated by emergency crews.

Their injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

Norris Twilley Road was closed for an extended period of time while the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office Collision Reconstruction Unit processed and investigated the scene.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office is reporting that their preliminary findings indicate speed and alcohol may be contributing factors.

Investigators say they will continue to review evidence to determine what led up to the crash.

The identities of those involved are being withheld at this time. The investigation remains active and no further conclusions have been made.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office extended its condolences to everyone affected by the crash.
