Opening Day Festivities Announced for Little League Challenger Division in Wicomico County

Wicomico County, MD - The Little League Challenger season will be initiated by the Wicomico County Recreation & Parks department this Saturday, April 18. Opening day festivities are scheduled to be held at the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex, specifically at Field 7 ½ in Salisbury, Maryland.

The Challenger division is classified as an adaptive baseball program. It is designed to provide individuals with physical and intellectual challenges an opportunity to participate in a structured Little League environment tailored to their abilities.

The scheduled events for opening day include a player and buddy parade, followed by a ceremonial first pitch. The initial games of the season will be played subsequently.

Members of the public are invited to support the athletes. Attendees are instructed to line the path to Field 7 ½ during the parade and are encouraged to remain for the duration of the games. An arrival time of 8:45 a.m. is advised, as the parade is scheduled to commence promptly at 9 a.m.
