Pickup Truck Fire Damages Delmar Home's Siding

Delmar, MD - A vehicle fire in Delmar, on the Maryland side, sent the Delmar Volunteer Fire Company rushing to the scene early Friday morning.

The fire broke out around 6:42 a.m. in the 9000 block of Green Isle Circle. The truck's owner discovered the fire and called for help.

Firefighters arrived to find a 2004 GMC Sierra 2500 HD pickup truck on fire. The flames started inside the cab of the truck. Four firefighters worked together to get the fire under control in about 20 minutes.

The fire caused an estimated $16,000 in damage to the truck and $100 in damage to its contents. Heat from the fire also damaged the vinyl siding on a nearby structure.

Fire officials have not yet determined what caused the fire. The investigation remains ongoing. The Delmar Volunteer Fire Company responded with one alarm.
