Pole Building Fire Causes $100K in Damage Near Chestertown

Kent County, MD - A metal pole building caught fire Saturday evening in Kent County, Maryland, causing an estimated $100,000 in damage.

The fire broke out around 4:34 p.m. in the 8500 block of Camp Road in Chestertown, Maryland. The building measured 24 feet by 32 feet.

Firefighters from the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene. Thirty firefighters worked to bring the flames under control.

It took crews about 40 minutes to get the fire under control. One alarm was sounded for the incident.

The fire started somewhere inside the structure, but the exact cause is still unknown. Investigators say the cause is under investigation.

Damage estimates put the loss at $50,000 for the structure itself. Contents inside the building were also valued at $50,000 in losses.
