Quadruple Amputee Murder Suspect Extradited to Charles County
State of MD - On March 31, 2026, murder suspect Dayton Webber, 27, of La Plata, Maryland, was extradited from Virginia. Members of the Charles County Sheriff's Office Judicial Services Section transported Webber from the Albemarle County Detention Center.
He was then booked into the Charles County Detention Center (CCDC) in accordance with standard procedures.
Housing and care decisions for all individuals in CCDC custody are made based on facility policies and applicable laws. Webber has specific medical and mobility needs due to him being a quadruple amputee.
Appropriate accommodations will be provided for him. These accommodations comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), established correctional standards, and best practices.
Webber is currently being held pending a bond review. This review will be conducted remotely. Remote reviews are standard procedure for incarcerated individuals at the CCDC.
The Charles County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) acknowledged that the unusual circumstances of this case generated questions. These questions primarily concern adapted procedures and ADA compliance.
However, the CCSO will not release additional information regarding the booking processes, housing, equipment, or techniques.
Furthermore, for safety and operational reasons, specific security procedures, housing assignments, and transport schedules are not disclosed.
