Salisbury Closes Several Roads Due to Flooding

Salisbury, MD - The City of Salisbury is temporarily closing parts of several roads because of flooding. The move is meant to protect motorists and give crews room to keep an eye on changing water levels.

Right now, four sections of road are closed. That includes Race Street from Snow Hill Road to Park Heights Avenue, Lake Street from West Main Street to Route 50, Lake Street from Burton Street to King Street, and Fitzwater Street from West Main Street to Pearl Street.

The City says barricades will be staggered where possible. This will help keep local businesses in those areas open and reachable.

More high tides are expected over the next few days. Because of that, the City plans to keep the barricades up until around 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, while crews continue watching flooding conditions.

Drivers are asked to use caution near any standing or floodwater. Everyone is asked to follow the posted barricades and detours.

The City of Salisbury thanks the community for its patience. Crews will keep working to maintain safe access throughout the affected areas.
