Salisbury, MD - The City of Salisbury says the pedestrian bridge in City Park will close for renovations. Work begins Thursday, August 6, 2026.

The bridge will be closed to all foot traffic for the entire project. City officials say this is needed to protect both the public and the construction crews.

The project is expected to wrap up by Thursday, September 17, 2026. Officials note that the schedule depends on weather and could change.

Mayor Taylor spoke about the project. "I am thrilled to see the Pedestrian Bridge Project get underway," said Mayor Taylor. "The City Park is a place where families, friends and visitors come together, and maintaining these spaces is a priority for our administration. I look forward to seeing the finished project and thank our community for their patience during construction."

The City is asking residents and visitors to use alternate routes while the work is underway.

People are also asked to follow all posted signs and barriers near the construction area.

City officials say the upgrades will make the bridge safer and help it last longer. They thanked the public in advance for their patience during construction.
