Salisbury Names New Assistant City Administrator and Acting Communications Director
Salisbury, MD - The City of Salisbury has appointed two new members to its leadership team. Austin "Skip" Cox will serve as Assistant City Administrator, and Jordan Ray has been named Acting Communications Director.
Both appointments were announced by the city this week as part of an effort to bring experienced professionals into key roles within local government.
Cox comes to the position with more than 35 years of experience in construction, real estate, and project management. He has managed large commercial developments and multimillion-dollar budgets throughout his career.
Most recently, Cox served as Senior Property and Project Manager with Brownmarsh LLC. In that role, he oversaw more than 2 million square feet of commercial real estate across multiple states and led capital improvement projects. He has also previously supported planning and development work for the City of Salisbury.
Mayor Randy Taylor spoke directly about what Cox brings to the table.
"Austin 'Skip' Cox is a well-known and highly experienced contractor and developer. He brings next-level expertise in navigating both infrastructure and development projects. Our administration is extremely fortunate to have secured his skills and abilities as we advance both public and private initiatives. I look forward to his continued contributions and the tremendous value he brings to the Mayor's Office."
Ray steps into his new role after working in the Mayor's Office as a Media Specialist. In that position, he helped shape the city's public image through digital media, community outreach, and strategic communications.
His work included managing social media platforms, producing video content, developing marketing materials, and supporting major city events and announcements. Ray also founded his own media production company and has a background in marketing and business development.
Mayor Taylor shared his confidence in Ray's ability to lead the communications office.
"I am thrilled to have Jordan Ray step into the role of Acting Communications Director. He has proven to be a thoughtful, talented, and gracious member of the team. I fully expect him to excel in this leadership role, as he has in the past, and I look forward to seeing him demonstrate that he is ready to lead."
The city said it looks forward to the work both Cox and Ray will do in their new roles as Salisbury continues to serve residents and move forward on key community initiatives.
