Salisbury Parkway Bridge Repairs Begin Sunday Night
Salisbury, MD - If you drive the US 50 Business (Salisbury Parkway) bridge in Salisbury at night, plan for some delays. Starting Sunday, October 11, crews will close one lane overnight to patch potholes on the bridge.
The lane closures will happen Sundays through Thursdays from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The work is expected to take about three weeks, weather permitting.
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (SHA) is in charge of the project in Wicomico County. The closures will stay in place on those nights until the work is done.
PDI Sheetz Construction Corporation of Linthicum is the contractor doing the repairs for SHA. Crews will use variable message signs, barrels, and cones to guide drivers safely through the work zone.
Boat traffic under the bridge will not be affected.
SHA is thanking drivers for their patience while the repairs are underway. The agency asks drivers to stay alert and stay focused in the work zone.
Drivers should watch for lower speed limits and changing traffic patterns while crews are on the bridge. SHA also reminds everyone that Maryland law requires drivers to slow down and move over in work zones.
