Salisbury, MD - Get ready to dance through downtown. The City of Salisbury is expanding its popular Third Friday celebration with a special music-themed night called Turn Up the Volume.

The event takes place Friday, September 18, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. It's happening in Downtown Salisbury and it's free to attend.

This expanded celebration comes while the City continues planning the future of its signature downtown festival. The Maryland Folk Festival, originally set for September, has been postponed as the City looks at new opportunities for its next big downtown event.

In the meantime, Turn Up the Volume is stepping in to fill the night with music, energy, and local pride. The event celebrates Salisbury's growing music and arts scene while giving everyone a taste of what's ahead for future festivals.

Downtown Salisbury will turn into one big stage for the night. Two stages will feature continuous live performances from local and regional musicians throughout the evening.

Street performers will also join the fun through the Salisbury Street Performers initiative. Add in artists, vendors, food trucks, and family-friendly entertainment, and there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Interactive music experiences will be set up throughout the downtown district too. It's a great chance to explore, shop, eat, and soak in the local talent all in one night.

City leaders hope the event will also boost foot traffic and support for local businesses. Salisbury has worked hard to build its reputation as a true Arts & Entertainment District, and this celebration shows that spirit in action.

"While we continue planning for the future of a premier downtown festival, Turn Up the Volume gives us the opportunity to celebrate the incredible musicians, performers, and artists who make our community so vibrant," said Scott Roberts, Director of the Arts, Business, and Culture Department.

Whether you're a longtime Third Friday fan or checking it out for the first time, this is one night you won't want to miss. Grab your friends, head downtown, and let the music lead the way.
