Seaford Man Tased, Arrested After Fighting Officers
Sussex County, MD - A Seaford man wanted by police was taken into custody Wednesday evening after resisting arrest and fleeing from officers, according to the Seaford Police Department.
Officers located Wendell King 3rd near the intersection of East Stein Highway and Front Street at around 6:53 p.m. on May 28, 2026. When officers approached King and informed him he was under arrest, he physically fought back and tried to run.
Officers deployed a taser to stop him. King was taken into custody without further incident. During the struggle, one of the department's patrol vehicles was damaged.
A search of King and the sling bag he was carrying turned up a loaded .380 pistol, extra ammunition, 12 bags of heroin, 10.7 grams of crack cocaine, and multiple items consistent with drug dealing.
King now faces a lengthy list of criminal charges. Those charges include Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Felony, Possession with Intent to Distribute, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, and two counts of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited. He also faces charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief, and six counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
