Shed Fire in Salisbury Blamed on Pest Control Mishap

Wicomico County, MD - On September 14, 2026, at approximately 4:29 p.m., the Salisbury Fire Department responded to the 700 block of Meadow Wood Drive in Salisbury, Maryland for a shed fire.

The shed measured 12 feet by 20 feet. A neighbor noticed the fire and called 911.

Crews arrived to find the fire burning inside the shed. It took about 15 firefighters roughly 20 minutes to get the flames under control. The fire was kept to one alarm.

The blaze stayed contained to the interior of the shed. Fire officials estimate the damage at $500 dollars to the structure.

Investigators say the fire was accidental. They believe it started during an extermination process that did not go as planned. No other details about the cause have been released.

Crews were able to knock the fire down quickly, limiting the damage to just the shed. No other structures in the area were affected.
