Small Fire Breaks Out Near Salisbury Playground
Wicomico County, MD - A small fire broke out near a playground in Salisbury early Tuesday morning, causing minor damage before firefighters quickly brought it under control.
The Salisbury Fire Department responded to the scene at Middle Neck Drive and Deborah Drive around 7:15 a.m. on June 10, 2026. Four firefighters arrived and had the fire under control in just two minutes.
Construction workers in the area were the first to spot the flames and report the incident. The fire started in a brush area near the fence line of the playground.
The blaze caused some damage to the fence bordering the playground. The estimated property loss came in at just $100, and no injuries or displaced residents were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information to reach out to the Deputy State Fire Marshals at the Lower Eastern Regional Office.
