Snow Hill, MD - The Town of Snow Hill now has its official election results. Incumbent Mayor Janet Simpson won re-election, and Ethan Shockley will join the Town Council representing the Eastern District.

The general election was held in person on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. Two seats were on the ballot: Mayor and the Eastern District Council seat.

Mayor Simpson faced former Council member Charles (Rob) Hall. Simpson came out on top by a wide margin, finishing with 235 votes to Hall's 90 votes.

The Eastern District race was much closer. Incumbent Council member Edward Lee and challenger Ethan Shockley were separated by just five votes when unofficial results came in on Election Day.

After absentee ballots were counted, the final tally put Shockley at 81 votes and Lee at 76 votes. Under the Town Charter, the Board of Election Supervisors met on May 12 and again on May 26 to count absentee ballots postmarked on or before May 5.

The official results will be presented publicly at the next regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council. That meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the board room of the Worcester County Commissioners.

Mayor Simpson and Council member-elect Shockley will be sworn into office at that meeting.
