Stevensville Woman Charged with DUI After Route 301 Stop

Queen Anne's County, MD - On August 29, 2026 at approximately 11:53 p.m., a Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office deputy, Cpl. Betts, was on patrol on southbound Route 301 near the Route 50 westbound split.

He saw a vehicle cross over the white chevron markings that separate traffic at the split.

Cpl. Betts also saw the vehicle drift out of its lane and nearly hit another car. He stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, identified as Yvonne Willet, 61, of Stevensville.

Willet told Cpl. Betts she had been drinking alcohol. She agreed to field sobriety tests, did not perform them well, and was placed under arrest.

A breath test later showed her blood alcohol level was .11. Willet was charged with DUI, DUI per se, driving while impaired, reckless driving, negligent driving, and failure to obey a traffic control device.
