Sudlersville House Fire Displaces Five, Injures One

Sudlersville, MD - On September 11, 2026, at approximately 1:22 p.m., the Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company responded to Peters Corner Road in Sudlersville, Maryland for a reported structure fire. The home was a one-story, wood frame, single-family dwelling.

An occupant discovered the fire in the living room and was able to escape the home safely. That occupant was evaluated on scene for minor fire-related injuries.

A pet cat inside the home died in the fire. Five people who lived at the residence have been displaced.

It took firefighters about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.

Twenty-five firefighters responded to the single-alarm call.

Damage to the structure and its contents is estimated by the State Fire Marshal's Office at $230,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
