Talbot County Woman Charged in Knife Assault

Talbot County, MD - On September 18, 2026, deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff's Office responded to the 26000 block of Tunis Mills Road for a report of a domestic disturbance. When deputies arrived, they spoke with the victim and found injuries that matched an assault involving a knife.

Based on what deputies observed and learned during the investigation, they placed Asia Iyanna Veney, 20, of Saint Michaels, MD, under arrest. Veney was charged with first degree assault, reckless endangerment, assault, and dangerous weapon with the intent to injure.

Deputies took Veney to the Talbot County Central Booking facility for processing. She had an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner and is being held pending further action by the courts.
