Tangier Classic Fishing Tournament Postponed, Fundraiser Moves to Princess Anne

Princess Anne, MD - The fishing portion of the 8th Annual Tangier Classic has been postponed to next weekend, October 2 through October 4, 2026. Organizers made the call due to forecasted winds of 20 to 30 mph all three days.

The fundraiser is still on for this Saturday, September 26, 2026 but at a new location. Due to flooding concerns, it has moved to the Somerset County Civic Center at 11828 Crisfield Lane in Princess Anne, Maryland.

Doors open at 4 p.m., and events begin at 5 p.m. Tickets are now $10, or free if you wear a Tangier Classic wristband or any Tangier Classic gear. Anyone registered to fish also gets in free.

Guests can enjoy pork and chicken BBQ, fresh oysters, free Burnish Beer, and live music from Old State Line. There will also be a live auction, silent auction, and bucket raffle to help raise money for Wyatt Bruno.

Captains' meetings will be held tonight, September 23, at 7 p.m. at FOP Lodge 111. Two more meetings are set for September 30 and October 1 at the same location, with merch available and food and drinks served by the FOP.

A volunteer meeting is also set for tonight at 6 p.m. at the FOP lodge. Organizers say they need more volunteers, so anyone interested can attend or reach out at Tangierclassic@gmail.com or 420.430.0028.
