Teen Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash on Hollyville Road in Millsboro
Sussex County, DE - An 18-year-old Millsboro woman died Thursday morning after a three-vehicle crash on a wet stretch of road in Sussex County, Delaware. The Delaware State Police are investigating the accident.
The crash happened around 9:10 a.m. on May 14, 2026, on Hollyville Road near Harmony Cemetery Road in Millsboro, Delaware.
According to investigators, a Ford Taurus was headed north on Hollyville Road when it lost traction on the wet pavement while navigating a left curve. The car rotated and crossed into the southbound lane, directly into the path of a Hyundai Tucson that was traveling south.
The Hyundai struck the right side of the Ford. A Jeep Cherokee, which was following behind the Hyundai, swerved to avoid the collision but also hit the Hyundai.
The driver of the Ford was identified as 18-year-old Paishence Young of Millsboro, DE. She was not wearing a seatbelt. Young was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 45-year-old woman from Lewes, Delaware, and the driver of the Jeep, a 53-year-old woman also from Lewes, Delaware, were not injured.
Hollyville Road was shut down for about three hours while troopers worked the scene and cleared the roadway.
