Three Arrested After Hotel Room Shooting Left Three Juveniles Inside, Two Stolen Guns Recovered
State of DE - Three men are behind bars after a late-night shooting at a Dover, Delaware hotel left a room riddled with bullet holes, with three children inside.
It happened just before midnight on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. Officers were called to the Capital Inn at approximately 11:26 p.m. after reports of shots fired in the area.
While officers were on their way, a witness called 9-1-1 with a crucial tip. The caller reported seeing several people run from the scene and jump into a gray Ford Flex SUV, which then fled southbound on DuPont Highway.
When officers arrived at the Capital Inn, what they found was alarming. A hotel room had a shattered window and multiple shots fired through the door. Inside that room at the time of the shooting were three juveniles, a 17-year-old, a 13-year-old, and a 12-year-old. Investigators also recovered 12 shell casings at the scene.
A short time later, Delaware State Police located the gray Ford Flex and conducted a traffic stop in the Camden, Delaware area. Inside the vehicle were three men: Isaiah Williams, 21, of Salisbury, Maryland; Tashawn Gantt, 24, of Delmar, Maryland; and Keangello Crump, 18, of Eden, Maryland.
The vehicle was driven by a 34-year-old woman who was not charged in connection with the incident.
All three men were taken into custody. Investigators noted that Williams, Gantt, and Crump were each wearing the same clothing visible on surveillance video from the Capital Inn at the time of the shooting.
Two 9mm handguns were found inside the vehicle. One of those firearms had been reported stolen out of Delaware State Police Troop 7.
Isaiah Williams was committed to SCI on a $165,100 cash bond. He faces the following charges: Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Felony (2 counts), Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (2 counts), Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (3 counts), Wearing a Disguise During Commission of a Felony, Receiving a Stolen Firearm, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, and Criminal Mischief.
Tashawn Gantt was committed to SCI on a $166,100 cash bond. His charges include: Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Felony (2 counts), Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (2 counts), Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (3 counts), Wearing a Disguise During Commission of a Felony, Receiving a Stolen Firearm, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief, and Assault 3rd Degree.
Keangello Crump was committed to SCI on a $105,100 secured bond. He is charged with: Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Felony (2 counts), Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (3 counts), Wearing a Disguise During Commission of a Felony, Receiving a Stolen Firearm, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, and Criminal Mischief.
This case serves as a reminder of how quickly a dangerous situation can unfold and how close innocent lives can come to tragedy. Three children were in that hotel room when the bullets flew through the door and window. By all accounts, it is fortunate that no one was injured.
