Trappe Man Arrested on Child Support Warrant
Talbot County, MD - Talbot County deputies arrested a Trappe man last week after a judge issued a warrant for his failure to appear in court. Zaykeese Lamont Wongus, 26, of Trappe, MD, was taken into custody on July 24, 2026, by the Talbot County Sheriff's Office.
The warrant traces back to July 15, 2026, when the Circuit Court for Talbot County issued it after Wongus missed a scheduled court hearing. That hearing was related to a child support case. Failing to appear for a court date can lead to an arrest warrant being issued, even in civil matters like this one.
Following his arrest, Wongus was transported to the Talbot County Central Booking facility for processing. He is being held pending a hearing before a Circuit Court Judge.
Cases like this are a reminder of how seriously Talbot County courts treat missed hearings, even for civil issues such as child support.
