Trash Can Fire Damages Salisbury Home

Salisbury, MD - A trash can fire caused heat damage to a home in Salisbury Saturday evening, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM).

The fire broke out around 7:29 p.m. on July 18, 2026 in the 600 block of Priscilla Street in Salisbury, Maryland. It started in a trash can sitting next to a single-family home.

A neighbor spotted the fire and reported it. Salisbury City Police and the Salisbury Fire Department requested help from the OSFM.

The fire caused an estimated $300 in damage to the structure and another $300 in damage to its contents.

Investigators have not yet determined what caused the fire. The case remains under investigation.
