Truck Catches Fire at Chestertown Home

Queen Anne's County, MD - A pickup truck caught fire Tuesday evening at a Queen Anne's County residence, but no one was hurt and fire department crews were not needed to bring the situation under control.

The incident happened around 8:08 p.m. on May 5, 2026, at 100 Wood Duck Lane in Chestertown. The vehicle involved was a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado.

The fire was discovered by the occupant of the property. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, the area of origin was the exterior of the vehicle.

No fire department response was requested or needed. The estimated property loss from the fire was reported at $100.00. No injuries or fatalities were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently listed as under investigation. However, the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office noted that preliminary findings do not point to any criminal intent at this time.
