Truck Fire Breaks Out at Grasonville Hotel

Queen Anne's County, MD - A pickup truck went up in flames outside a Grasonville hotel early Friday morning, according to the Grasonville Volunteer Fire Department.

The fire broke out around 12:49 a.m. on July 17 in the parking lot of the Best Western Hotel at 3101 Main Street in Grasonville, Maryland. A hotel guest discovered the fire and reported it.

The vehicle involved was a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD. Fire crews say the blaze started in the engine compartment.

Ten firefighters responded to the scene and had the fire under control within 20 minutes.

Fire officials estimate the damage at around $10,000. The preliminary cause is listed as accidental, tied to an unspecified electrical or mechanical issue under the hood.
