Turkey Trek 5K Returns to Pemberton Park on Thanksgiving

Wicomico County, Maryland - Families looking for a way to get moving before the big holiday meal can head to Salisbury this Thanksgiving. The yearly Turkey Trek 5K is coming back to Pemberton Park on Thursday, November 26, 2026.

The race is meant for the whole family. Runners will try to beat "Mr. Gobble Gobble" to the finish line.

Once the race is over, everyone can stick around for refreshments. Holiday pie will also be served after the finish.

Several awards will be handed out. The top male and female finishers overall will be recognized, along with first, second and third place in each of six age groups.

There is also a prize for the best Thanksgiving costume. That means dressing up for the holiday is a good way to stand out, even if you are not the fastest one on the course.

Anyone who wants to sign up ahead of time has until 5 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2026. That is the last chance to pre-register.

Those who miss the deadline can still join the fun. Registration will be open at the race site on the morning of the event from 7 to 7:45 a.m.

To sign up or get more details, go to www.WicomicoRecandParks.org. People can also register in person at the Wicomico Civic Center box office, which is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
