Two Found Dead in Pocomoke Home, Maryland State Police are Investigating

Pocomoke, MD - Shortly before 7:30 p.m. on September 6, troopers from the Maryland State Police Princess Anne Barrack responded to a residence in the 7500 block of Dividing Creek Road in Pocomoke, Maryland. They were called for a welfare check.

Police arrived and found an unresponsive woman inside the home. She was later identified as 67 year old Christine Wells of Pocomoke, Maryland.

Officers also found 66 year old Robert Dehart, also of Pocomoke, Maryland, with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Both Wells and Dehart were pronounced deceased on the scene by local emergency medical services.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore has officially ruled Wells' death a homicide. Police believe Wells and Dehart were previously in a relationship, and that Wells was currently serving as Dehart's caretaker.

Investigators from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene, along with Crime Scene Technicians from the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division. They worked to review and process evidence from the residence.
