US 50 Resurfacing Underway in Talbot County

Trappe, MD - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (SHA) has started resurfacing part of westbound US 50 in Talbot County. The work covers 2.5 miles of Ocean Gateway in Trappe.

The project runs between Barber Road and Sanderstown Road. Crews will mill and pave the road. They will also add new striping and new reflective pavement markings.

Edge line rumble strips are part of the job as well. All of the work is on the westbound side.

Drivers should expect single lane closures while crews are out. Work hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The schedule depends on the weather.

SHA expects to finish the project by mid-November. Drivers who use this stretch of US 50 may want to plan a little extra time until then.

SHA asks everyone in the area to stay alert and avoid distractions. That goes for both drivers and people on foot. Drivers should also follow all posted speed limits in the work zone.
