Salisbury, MD - The community is invited to come out and honor local veterans at a Veterans Day ceremony at the Wicomico Civic Center, 500 Glen Avenue, Salisbury, MD. The ceremony starts at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2026.

The Wicomico County War Memorial Committee is putting the event together. The committee is asking people from all over the county to join in thanking those who served.

The plan is to hold the ceremony outside, at the War Memorial in front of the Civic Center. If it rains, everything will move inside to the Midway Room.

Those who attend can expect patriotic music and prayer. There will also be a time of remembrance, and the program is meant to honor all veterans.

Veterans Day is a time to thank and honor living veterans. It recognizes the men and women who served honorably in the military, in wartime or in peacetime.

The location has a close tie to the day. The Civic Center itself is a war memorial to all veterans.

Out front, the Wicomico War Veterans' Memorial has flags from each branch of the military. The United States, Maryland, Wicomico County and POW-MIA flags fly there too.

Those flags stand over a brick wall lined with plaques. The plaques list the names of Wicomico County's fallen veterans from World War II and beyond.
