Wicomico High Teacher Charged With Sexual Abuse of Student

Wicomico County, MD - On August 11, 2026, the Wicomico County Child Advocacy Center opened an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving a minor child. The investigation centered on Chance Michael Hogue, a former teacher at Wicomico High School.

Detectives found evidence that Hogue sexually abused and exploited the victim while he worked for Wicomico County Public Schools. The victim was a student at Wicomico High School at the time.

On August 24, 2026, a Wicomico County Grand Jury indicted Hogue. He faces two counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor, two counts of Attempted Sexual Abuse of a Minor, two counts of Sexual Solicitation of a Minor, two counts of Sexual Offense in the Fourth Degree, and two counts of Attempted Sexual Offense in the Fourth Degree.

Records show Hogue began working for Wicomico County Public Schools in 2021. He taught at Wicomico High School for about three years and had previously worked at Choices Academy. Hogue is no longer employed by the school system.

Hogue is currently being held without bond as he awaits trial.

The investigation is still active. Detectives are continuing to look into the case. They want to hear from anyone who may have information about other possible incidents involving Hogue.
