Wicomico Man Arrested After Traffic Stop, CDS Found

Wicomico County, MD - Wicomico County Sheriff's Office deputies stopped a vehicle as part of a joint operation and found a large amount of drugs inside. The stop was conducted by the Joint Criminal Apprehension Team, known as JCAT.

The driver was identified as Terrell Smullen-Parsons. A passenger was also removed from the vehicle during the stop.

A search of the vehicle turned up about 247 grams of raw marijuana, THC edibles, and 25 oxycodone pills. Deputies also found a digital scale, $300 in cash, two cell phones, and packaging material connected to drug distribution.

During a search of Smullen-Parsons, deputies say he pulled out a quantity of cocaine. He then resisted arrest and bit a deputy on the hand, causing a cut.

Smullen-Parsons also swallowed some of the suspected drugs during the struggle. Deputies were able to get him under control and take him into custody.

EMS responded to the scene and took Smullen-Parsons and the injured deputy to TidalHealth for treatment. An arrest warrant was issued for Smullen-Parsons on August 19, 2026.

JCAT later got information on where Smullen-Parsons was staying. With help from the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division, detectives found him in a vehicle at an address in Salisbury.

He was taken into custody there without incident. Detectives recovered about 6.8 grams of marijuana, $545 in cash, and a cell phone during the arrest.

Smullen-Parsons was taken to the Wicomico County Detention Center without incident.
Smullen-Parsons was charged with multiple drug offenses, Assault and multiple counts of obstructing and hindering. He initially saw a district court commissioner and was held without bond on August 20, 2026. On August 21, 2026, he had a bond review in front of Judge David Martz and was again held without bond.
